Almost 1000 people from various countries and international organisations will oversee the upcoming parliamentary elections in Russia. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced yesterday by Chairman of the Central Elections Committee Alexander Veshnyakov. He said the committee had already sent invitations to all the international supervisory organisations including the OSCE (organisation for security and cooperation in Europe). He mentioned that OSCE representatives had been in close contact with the elections committee since the pre-election campaigns began. A group of international supervisors even attended a meeting where the schedule for the parliamentary elections was confirmed.
