Russia's money supply steps up

The volume of the money supply amounted to 1.198 trillion rubles (about $39.2bn) in Russia on September 15, 2003, the external and public relations department of the Russian Central Bank reported. On September 8, 2003 it was 1.187 trillion rubles ($38.84bn).

The money supply includes cash money in circulation issued by the Russian Central Bank (taking into account balances at cash departments of credit organizations) and balances of accounts of obligatory reserves in domestic currency deposited at the Central Bank.
