The 17th meeting of the CIS Economic Council is to be held on the level of deputy prime ministers on Friday, September 5, in Moscow.
The draft agenda of the meeting includes about 20 items a RIA Novosti correspondent was told in the Moscow department of the CIS Executive Committee.
The CIS deputy prime ministers will discuss, among other things, proposals on promoting economic interaction among the Commonwealth states, the results of the bilateral talks on tariff limitations and coordination of the schedule of their gradual cancellation.
Experts will discuss also progress in implementing the decisions of the Council of the CIS Heads of State on the concept of adopting an agreed tariff policy in railway transport and in the tariff policy of the CIS railways in the 2003 charter year.
A draft agreement on introducing an international certificate for weighing transport vehicles on the territory of the CIS countries and a draft protocol on making amendments and additions in the 1993 Agreement (March 12) on mutual recognition of the rights on free travel for invalids and WWII veterans and also for persons equated to them will also be on the meeting's agenda.
The Economic Council will discuss proposals on optimising the expenditures envisaged in the common budget of the CIS bodies in 2003 for the purpose of cutting spending.
It is planned to discuss the draft resolution of the Council of the CIS Heads of State on financial support for the activities of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS states in 2003 and also progress in implementing the decisions of the Council of the CIS Heads of State, dated October 7, 2002, on establishing permanent exhibitions of the Commonwealth.
