Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends its citizens to give up travelling to Nepal.

"Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Russian citizens visiting Nepal for personal reasons to practice extreme care and prudence and, if possible, to abstain from visits to that country in case there is an information on worsening situation there", a RIA Novosti correspondent was told Tuesday at thee Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry clarified that the recommendation is based on the information from Katmandu, the capital of Nepal. Nepal's Communist (Maoist) Party declared a unilateral cessation of negotiations with the Government on the internal conflict settlement and rejection of the agreement reached seven months ago. Armed clashes between rebels and the Government forces have been observed, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Moscow hopes, that Nepal has not exhausted its dialogue to create a peaceful situation in the Kingdom to provide political, social and economic progress in the country on the basis of democratic constitutionality and law and order," Russian Federation Foreign Ministry stated.
