Russian oil exports advance

Russian oil exports outside the CIS amounted to 100.487m tons in the period from January to August 2003, which was 10 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year but 21.214m tons less than the planned volume, sources in the Central Dispatcher Department of the fuel and energy sector of the Russian Energy Ministry told RBC. Transit resources (taking into account Belarus) were 13.156m tons in the reported period. On the whole, oil exports from Russia to countries outside the CIS were 113.642m tons in the first eight months of 2003, which was 21.644m tons less than planned.

Some 110.526m tons of oil were exported outside the CIS through the Transneft pipeline system, which was 25 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year but 4.106m tons less than planned. About 60.564m tons of these exports were transported through seaports.

Oil exports from Russia to countries outside the CIS were 15.825m tons in August, which was 1.610m tons less than the planned amount.

Oil exports through the Transneft system were 15.148m tons last month.
