All those found aboard the Russian helicopter which crashed in Kamchatka have died, said Gennadi Korotkin, deputy minister for emergency situations, and a group of officials from the prosecutor's office. They have returned from the site of the catastrophe.
To them, many bodies defy identification: they are heavily maimed. The body of Igor Farkhutdinov, governor of the Sakhalin region, has been identified. He led a delegation of the Russian Far Eastern region. On August 20 they were being flown in a Mi-8 helicopter to the Kurile islands.
The precise number of victims is still unknown.
A rescuer camp has been settled on the site of the catastrophe. Search and rescue work will continue on Sunday: night is approaching in Kamchatka.
