Bashkiria unveils new Nefaz tourist bus

Bashkiria has a new model international passenger bus Nefaz, which was officially exhibited in Ufa on the square next to the government building today. Bashkiria president's press service told Rosbalt that the first passengers of the new bus were Bashkirian President Murtaz Rakhimov and Prime Minister Raphael Baydavletov.

The Bashkirian leadership personally reviewed the bus, and praised its design and technical qualities. Rakhimov also praised the innovations of Nefaz and wished the company well in the auto salon in Moscow in September.

The new Nefaz is a tourist bus. It was built for a capacity of 47 seated persons and runs on a KAMAZ engine and complies with European norms for toxic emissions. It has single-winged doors and heaters for colder climates. Bashavtotrans company purchased the first Nefaz, and is interested in purchased two additional buses.

The Neftekamsky Automobile Factory or Nefaz was founded in 1977 and is successor of Neftekamsky Dump Truck Factory a branch of KAMAZ. In the first half of 2003 the plant produced industrial products valued at more than USD 56.1 million.

Bus production at the plant has increased significantly. In the last year it has increased by 42.4%. Bashkiria, Tatarstan, and St. Petersburg are the primary purchasers of the buses. This year the Nefaz bus has been acquired by 15 Russian regions, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Syria.
