Vladimir Putin: Russia to secure its position on Asian arms market

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on the government to secure the country's position on the Asian arms market. At the Monday session with the government in the Kremlin, the President touched upon the contract to supply a large amount of Russian Su-30 airplanes to Malaysia, signed during Putin's recent visit to the country. "It is an additional ground, a breakthrough to the Asian market, and we have to secure the result," the Russian leader said.

He pointed to the need to set up a service centre for Russian airplanes in Malaysia, to ensure timely deliveries of spare parts and training of local experts. "This will allow us to secure our position on the market and to promote our products further," the President believes. "This is support to the Russian military industry which in turn will allow equipping the Russian Army with the state-of-the-art arms," Putin emphasized.
