Oil pipeline from Ukraine to Poland to be built with Russian participation

Russia is ready to take part in the construction of the Brody-Plock oil pipeline, said the ambassador of Russia to Ukraine, Viktor Chernomyrdin.

At the same time the diplomat noted that Russia had not yet received special proposals on this score.

"If such proposals are made, and there is such necessity, Russia will take part in this project with pleasure," specified the diplomat.

Viktor Chernomyrdin added that first of all it is necessary to study the economic component of this project.

As was reported earlier, on July 31 Ukraine and Poland signed a memorandum on the creation of a Ukrainian-Polish joint venture for the implementation of the project of the Brody-Plock oil pipeline.

The project of prolonging the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline to the Polish town of Plock was approved by the governments of Ukraine and Poland.
