Euro strengthens against ruble

The weighted average euro exchange rate amounted to 34.64 RUR/EUR at a special session today, which was RUR0.22 higher than the official euro rate set for August 6. So, the ruble has weakened for the third day in a row against the euro. On August 4 and 5 the euro added more than RUR0.40.

Dealers of commercial banks attribute this considerable strengthening of the euro to the dollar's drop against the euro on international exchanges, which started at the beginning of this week. As a result, the euro costs more than 1.15 dollars currently, while yesterday it was about 1.1360 to 1.1370 dollars.
