Vladimir Putin allots USD 1.85 million for restoration of memorials

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made arrangements to allot in the third quarter of 2003 from the president's reserve fund more than USD 1.85 million for the restoration of historic and cultural memorials in the country.

The president's press service told Rosbalt that the money would be allocated to the city of Yeniseysk for the repairs of the men's high school, Kislovodsk for the restoration of the fortress and regional museum, Zheleznovodsk for the repairs of a branch building of the Kislovodsk State Philharmonic, Novgorod for the restoration of the St. Nicholas church and monastery and repairs of a building of the Bohemia brewery. In addition, the president's reserve fund will also allocate funds to Kostroma for the restoration of the Durygin house, which is a former noble assembly, Tobolsk for the palace of the governor general, fortress ensemble and exchange building, and the village of Kiritsa in Ryazan Region for the Von Derviz estate.

Moreover, USD 16.5 thousand will be earmarked for the restoration of a building at the president's school in the republic of Mari-El. USD 23 thousand will also be allotted to the Tambov Region administration for the restoration of the roof of a children's and adolescent's center.

The Culture Ministry, Mari-El republic, and Tambov Region administration will control the expenditures of the allotted money and provide a report of expenses to the administration of the president. The president's plenipotentiaries in the corresponding federal districts will verify that the allotted money was spent properly.
