More than 300 companies participate at international software development forum in Saint Petersburg

The third international software development forum Russia's potential for exporting software opened in Saint Petersburg yesterday. AS the organisers announced at the opening ceremony, more than 500 people from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Baltic countries, Scandinavia, the US, Japan, Germany and other countries will attend the forum. More than 300 companies will be involved and more than 20 will exhibit their goods and projects.

According to President of the Russian Software Association Russoft Valentin Makarov, the forum is one of the main events in the IT world. He said the main aim of the forum is to 'establish contacts between software engineers and clients and help to organise negotiations.'

The forum will run until June 28 and will include round-table discussions and exhibitions. The main topics of discussion will be marketing, the sale of goods and services, cultural differences, legal aspects of software development and software management.

The forum is being organised by the Fort Ross group of software engineers from Saint Petersburg, the Russian software association Russoft, the Norden association for cooperation with Northern Europe and the Digital Design company. The event is being financed by the Russian Press Ministry, the Ministry for Industry, Science and Technology and the Saint Petersburg administration.
