First international naval show opens in St. Petersburg

On Thursday St. Petersburg will host the opening of the first International Naval Show.

A total of 319 shipbuilding enterprises including 53 foreign ones as well as 30 official delegations from the world sea powers and 117 foreign observers will be among the participants.

On Wednesday the salon already hosted some expositions of shipbuilding enterprises as well as the first presentations.

As Head of the Russian Shipbuilding Agency Vladimir Pospelov believes, scientific forums, which are to be held within the framework of the show, are expected to bring success to the salon.

According to Director General of Rosoboroneksport /a Russian defence export enterprise/ Andrey Belyaninov, passing of the Trishul frigate built at the Baltic plant /St. Petersburg/ to the Indian navy marked the final step in the preparation of the Naval show. On Thursday the frigate will take its honorary place in the military ship exposition.
