Baltic countries to hold meeting in Kaliningrad

An introductory international seminar on cooperation within the Baltic zone will be held in Kaliningrad tomorrow. The audience will also participate in a discussion on the Seagull-DevERB project (a strategy to develop the Baltic zone) and the Baltic Gateway project (a model of transportation routes around the Baltic Sea).

Various representatives of Baltic countries will attend the seminar where they will discuss projects aimed at developing the regional constitutions of the Kaliningrad Region and Southern Sweden. The projects have the potential to align the living standards of people living in the Baltic region and to raise the socio-economic development of those countries.

The Baltic zone became official in 1996 and includes two Polish provinces, the Danish island of Bornholm, the Klaipeda region of Lithuania, the Latvian city of Liepaya and the Russian town of Baltiisk.
