National Medical Surgery Center to open branches in 3 cities of Russia & Ukraine

The Moscow-based National Medical Surgery Center, or the NMSC, is opening branches in two other Russian cities, St. Petersburg and Tambov, reported Russia's Health Minister Yury Shevchenko, who is also the president of this well-known medical establishment.

The branches will be opened as part of a program called NMSC to Russian Regions, the minister told a scientific and practical conference for surgeons working in the country's central regions. Specialists from the new medical institutions will be using laser technologies to perform surgery on patients suffering from vascular diseases. As of today, according to the Health Ministry's information, the country has about 30 million of such patients.

Another branch will be opened in Sevastopol, a Black Sea port in Ukraine. In accordance with an agreement signed between the two countries, the city remains the official base of Russia's Black Sea Fleet.
