Russia and US exchange experience in battle with fake drugs

The first Russian-American seminar on systems and standards of quality of drugs opened in Moscow. At the seminar opening, Director of Pharmaceutical Inspection at the Health Ministry Vladimir Shipkov said problems connected with falsification of drugs exist all over the world. 'Russia, acting in the battle with fake drugs, actively exchanges its information with other countries,' he said. One example of such cooperation is the conducting of the Russian-American seminar in Moscow, where specialists of pharmaceutical inspection of the Health Ministry and the administration for control of the quality of food products, medicines and cosmetics of the US Trade Department exchange professional experience, said Shipkov.

Moreover, he expressed confidence that the work at the seminar would help representatives of the Russian side advance domestic pharmaceutics on the world market in correspondence with those norms and rules which exist at the present time in the world.

The seminar is organized by the Health Ministry, US Trade Department's administration for control of quality of food products, medicines and cosmetics, US Department of Foreign Trade and the US Chamber of Commerce.
