Zavolzhsky Motor Factory (ZMF) located in Nizhny Novgorod Region will take part in the international automobile exhibition Auto Fair-2003, which will be held in Tehran from July 1 through July 5, 2003. The factory's press service told Rosbalt that ZMF will exhibit its ZMF-514 diesel engine and 406-series of injector engines. During the course of the exhibition meetings will be held where perspectives for future cooperation will be discussed.
ZMF Sales Director Alexander Lbov said in accordance with the joint work program with Iranian company Zamiad by the end of 2003 testing on the 8-cylinder engines ZMF-5235 should be completed. The engines will be installed in Zamiad buses. If the results of the commercial delivery of these engines are positive then beginning in 2004 the volume of delivery will be increased from 3 thousand to 10 thousand annually. ZMF is also developing with Iranian company Saipa a program for conducting joint adaptation work on the two and three-litre ZMF-4062 gas injector engine and the ZMF-514 diesel engine which will be installed in light minivans.
The ZMF company is part of the Severstal Group. In 2002 the factory produced 250,686 engines. In 2001 it produced 244,755 engines. The company had profits in 2002 of USD 26.8 million which was 3.5 times more than in 2001.
