Putin warns against acquiring nuclear weapons

Vladimir Putin warns other countries against the plans to acquire nuclear weapons.

"The possession of nuclear weapons by one or another country is not a reason for other countries to acquire these weapons," Russian President said at a Moscow press conference in reply to a question about Israel's possible weapons of mass destruction.

The president said this issue was "a key and painful one" adding that the problem must "make us think what we can do to settle the situation and get rid of the present arsenals, including in the countries, which legally possess or aspire to acquire weapons of mass destruction."
