SUAL to build another aluminum plant

The Russian metal giant SUAL plans to build a new aluminum plant, BAZ-2, at a cost of over RUR19bn (around $625.4m) by 2010, SUAL's Senior Deputy President Vladimir Skornyakov reported today. According to him, production capacities of the new plant will amount to nearly 264,000 tons of primary aluminum a year. Moreover, SUAL intends to rebuild another aluminum plant BAZ-1, that will enhance its output to 82,000 tons of aluminum a year, a source in the company told RBC.
