The majority of Russians want to travel to Schengen states without visa

The majority of Russians support the idea of abolishing visas to travel to European countries included in the Schengen visa zone. Specialists from the the Public Opinion fund came to that conclusion after surveying 1500 respondents on June 7. 51% of respondents said they were for the idea of abolishing the visa. Of that number 83% had a higher education.

However, most Russians aren't entertaining any illusions about that idea being realized in the very near future. 20% of Russians believe that the visa system will never be changed. 18% of respondents are hopeful that sometime in the future it will be changed. 21% of those responded believe the question will be settled in a period of up to five years.
