Central Bank's capital grew by 7.3% in April

The capital of the Central Bank of Russia reached RUR364.68bn ($11.93bn) as of May 1, 2003. According to the balance-sheet of the Central Bank for 2003, the value of precious metals belonging to the bank reached RUR48.89bn ($1.6bn) as of May 1, 2003. The Central Bank's funds and securities in foreign currencies held by non-residents amounted to RUR1.77 trillion ($57.9bn) as of May 1. The amount of loans and deposits reached RUR210.95bn ($6.9bn). The value of securities in the Central Bank's portfolio amounted to RUR277.64bn ($9.08bn), including the Russian government's securities totaling RUR246.05bn ($8.05bn). The sum at accounts in the Central Bank reached about RUR1 trillion ($32.71bn) as of May 1, including RUR415.57bn ($13.59bn) at accounts of the Russian government.
