Driver from Iraqi embassy in Moscow handed an arsenal to militia

On Saturday the "Hamovniki" department of the Ministry of Interior reported to RIA Novosti that driver of the Iraqi ambassador in Moscow Jafin Mohammed Ahmed voluntarily surrendered to militia 11 pieces of small arms and more than 1.500 of ammunition.

The agency's interlocutor explained that "the driver surrendered weapons at the request of the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary ambassador of Iraq Abbas Halaf" who the day before flew from Moscow to Baghdad.

Militia officers received from the embassy's official five Kalashnikov assault rifles, 5 Makarov pistols and 3 foreign-made pistols as well as 28 magazines to assault rifles and 10 - to pistols.

The department's officer added "that the weapons, according to the area information centre of the General department of Interior was not registered anywhere."
