KamAZ head voices 2003 plans

KamAZ is planning to receive at least 112m rubles ($3.66m) of net income in 2003, compared to 78.7m rubles ($2.57m) in 2002, KamAZ General Director Sergey Kogogin declared at an annual shareholders' meeting today.

He stressed that the company was planning to increase its share on the truck market from 28 percent to 39 percent this year. In particular, up to 2,000 out of 24,000 assembled trucks will be leased.

In 2002 the automobile manufacturer produced more than 20,000 trucks and 38,500 cars. More than 6,000 trucks were exported. Gross income amounted to 4.292bn rubles ($140.26m) and revenues were 23.305bn rubles ($761.6m) in 2002.
