In May, inflation in Russia amounted to 0.8%, the State Statistics Committee of the Russian Federation announced on Thursday.
As compared to April, the prices on food commodities grew by 0.7%, on nonfood items - 0.6%, while tariffs for paid services rose 1.5%.
In eight Russian regions, the prices of goods and services went up more than 1.5%. The highest price rise /3.9%/ was reported from the Republic of Komi, Northern Russia.
In Moscow, prices grew by 1.4% in May and by 7.3% since the beginning of the year; in St. Petersburg, they grew by 0.5% and by 8.7%, respectively.
