Gov't may allow Ford to produce more cars in Russia

Over the next two weeks, the Russian government will make a decision that may allow Ford Motor Company to increase production in Russia to 25,000 cars a year. This was reported by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin following a meeting with Vice President of the Ford Motor Company Wolfgang Schneider. At present, the company produces 12,500 Ford Focus cars in Russia a year.

Schneider also stated that the company would like to use more Russia-produced components, including for Ford cars intended for the European market. Alyoshin, in his turn, approved this initiative that is likely to boost Russian exports.
