Gazprom's CEO on cooperation with USA

The USA may become one of Russia's principal energy partners, Gazprom's Chief Executive Officer Alexey Miller announced speaking at the 22nd World Gas Conference in Tokyo. It is possible that Russia will supply the USA with liquefied gas, Miller said.

Gazprom's guidelines through 2020 are to improve the company's position on conventional markets and to get access to new markets. Development of the domestic market, primarily its liberalization, remains one of Gazprom's top priorities. Meanwhile, Gazprom remains on track to intensify its activities on the European market, Miller noted. At present, Russian gas supplies account for 28 percent of the European gas market.

The Russian gas giant is also planning to enter Asian markets. Gazprom is interested not only in gas exports, but also in joint projects including gas exploration, production and transportation.
