Sibir posts 2002 financial results

Net income of the air company Sibir amounted to 56m rubles ($1.8m) in 2002, compared to 12m rubles ($390,000) in losses in 2001, Sibir General Director Vladislav Filev declared at a news conference. According to him, revenues in 2002 were about $280m, against $96m in 2001. In 2003 the company is planning to carry about 3.2m people.

According to Filev, the air company has fulfilled the company's five-year plan of development. At present another five-year plan is being worked out, he said but did not elaborate on details. Filev noted that Sibir was considering a proposal on attracting resources for its development.
