SCO economic cooperation - clear guiding lines!

President Vladimir Putin has spoken for outlining clear guiding lines for economic cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation /SCO - China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan/.

"The second summit of the SCO heads scheduled for autumn 2003 is expected to be fruitful. Besides approval of the budget document, the summit participants must outline clear guiding lines for the SCO economic cooperation," Mr. Putin stated at an enlarged meeting of the SCO summit in Moscow.

According to him, it implies creation of favourable conditions for trade and investment development as well as certain economic and infrastructure projects. The President also believes it is necessary to complete the development of a long-term cooperation programme in the area.

Mr. Putin also considers it necessary to develop cooperation in health care, science and education.
