Company will make gigantic pancake in honour of St. Petersburg's birthday

In honour of St. Petersburg's 300th birthday, the city of Pushkin plans to make a 300 meter-long pancake, said a spokesperson for Darya company on May 22. Daryais organizing the event. The birthday pancake will be baked on Pushkin street next to the Ruslan cinema, therefore citizens can see the process of preparation from the beginning to the end. Darya opened in St. Petersburg in 1998. The company is part of the Plant Group of Moscow and has close ties to Sibneft. The company produces 100 different products including ravioli, varenik, pancakes, cutlets and other fast-food products with different natural fillings. The company owns 23% of the ravioli market in St. Petersburg and 29% in Moscow. In 2003 'Darya plans to have total sales of USD 60 million and produce 30 thousand tonnes of products. In 2002 total sales at Darya increased by 45% to USD 48 million and the company produces 24 thousand tonnes of products.
