Russian Interior Ministry wants to ban people's photographing with headwear for passports

The Russian Interior Ministry has asked the presidium of the Russian Supreme Court to cancel the decision allowing people to be photographed for passports /necessary for a person's identification in the country/ with headwear.

According to the Interior Ministry's press service, on Monday a Ministry representative sent a supervisory complaint on the issue to the Supreme Court.

The complaint contains the Russian Interior Ministry's request to cancel the Supreme Court's decision allowing Russian female citizens professing Islam to be photographed for passport with headwear, which is in line with their religious views.
