Gazprom to explore gas fields in Tajikistan

Gazprom will explore gas fields in Tajikistan, including within the provisions of Production Sharing Agreement. Corresponding agreements have been achieved in Dushanbe at today's meeting of Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller, Tajikistani President Emomali Rahmonov and Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov. The sides signed a strategic agreement on cooperation in the gas sector for 25 years, the press service of Gazprom reported.

The agreement envisages well workover operations, recovery of out-of-operation wells and other activities to be conducted by the Russian gas giant. Gazprom is planning to construct, repair and maintain gas pipelines and other gas facilities in the republic.
