Gazprom might start $10bn project in Qatar

Gazprom has received support from the Qatari Energy Minister concerning the implementation of a $10bn project in Qatar. The project envisages the construction of a gas pipeline and a gas processing facility, Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov declared at a news conference in Moscow today. He said this issue was negotiated yesterday by Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller and Qatari Minister of Energy, Industry, Water and Electricity Abdallah bin Hamad al Attiyah.

The planned pipeline for transporting Qatari gas is to be laid through the Persian Gulf, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Moreover, Russia is planning to implement a number of other projects on constructing different infrastructure facilities in Qatar, the Russian minister added.
