RAO UES Net Profits Skyrocket

The RAO UES net profits amounted to RUR31.427bn (about $1.01bn) in 2002 which is almost 2.5 times higher than in 2001. The figures were posted in the company's 2002 annual report made in accordance with Russian accounting standards.

In 2002, the Russian electric giant's revenue from sales of goods and services totaled RUR52.591bn ($1.69bn), while the pretax profit amounted to RUR44.695bn ($1.43bn).
