European Security and New World Order to Be Discussed at Russia-EU Summit in St. Petersburg

Questions of European security and the new world order will be discussed at the Russia-European Union Summit with the participation of the heads of state from the G8 during the tri-centennial celebrations in St. Petersburg in May, said the President's Plenipotentiary in the Northwest Federal District Valentina Matvienko at the International press center in St. Petersburg on Monday.

She also said that the agenda of the Russia-EU and CIS summits are still being defined. Nevertheless, Matvienko said that the summit will be the first meeting of European leaders since events in Iraq. Therefore, the first problem to be discussed will be about the 'new world order.' At the CIS summit questions including the development of the community will be discussed, said Matvienko.
