Foreign Special Services' Attention to Russian Navy Explains Appearance of Atomic Spy Submarine in Kamchatka

Assistant to the Commander in Chief of the Russian Navy, Igor Dygalo, has confirmed to RIA Novosti the information, provided by the headquarters of the group of forces in the Northeast, that a foreign, presumably US atomic spy submarine, was discovered during the group's exercises in the Avachi Bay in Kamchatka.

The appearance of an atomic submarine near the site of the group's exercises is explained by the attention foreign fleets and special services pay to the activities of the Russian Navy at sea, Dygalo said.

"The technical means at the fleet's disposal make it possible to detect and thwart such attempts," Igor Dygalo explained.
