President Putin Sends Greetings to Russian Expedition to the Arctic Region

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a letter of congratulations to the explorers at the Russian research station North Pole-32. The Russian expedition has arrived in the Arctic region for the first time after a 12-year break.

The president said the event was of "paramount importance." The expedition is carrying on the brilliant traditions set by a few generations of Russian polar researchers, the congratulatory message reads.

According to Putin, the performance of the Russian station in the North Pole will contribute significantly to the development of Russian science and help solve "a number of urgent practical tasks."
