Russian and Lithuanian Ministers Meet to Discuss Living Standards in Kaliningrad Region

The third meeting of the Russian-Lithuanian joint trade commission will take place today in the President Hotel in Moscow. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the press office of the Russian Transport Ministry, the Russian delegation is being led by Russian Transport Minister Sergei Frank while the Lithuanian delegation is being led by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis. Members of the commission are expected to discuss issues relating to the living standards in the Kaliningrad Region as well as prospects for cooperation in the areas of education, health and culture.

The Russian Transport Ministry added that Russia would like to establish a reliable transport system connecting the Kaliningrad Region with the rest of the country and protect the domestic interests of the region in the context of EU expansion
