Chechen citizens will receive some 240,000 rubles (about $7,700) in compensations for a ruined home, Chechen Prime Minister Anatoly Popov declared at a press conference today. He added that on April 18 representatives of the Audit Chamber would visit Chechnya to audit the process of distribution of funds allocated for Chechnya's restoration and compensations to Chechens.
Popov also noted that after the referendum the number of crimes in Chechnya had decreased. He mentioned that elections in the republic might be held not earlier than in September. He also stressed that he would not run for the presidency of Chechnya.
