RAO UES posts energy consumption figures

Energy consumption amounted to 82.98bn kilowatts/hour in March 2003, which was 6.4 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year, the system operator UES (RAO UES branch), told RBC citing the report of its CEO. Some 84.06bn kilowatts/hour of energy were produced, which was 6.8 percent higher than last year.

Due to the growth in energy consumption, energy production of thermoelectric plants of RAO UES exceeded planned volumes by 2.1 percent. Furnace oil supplies to RAO UES thermoelectric plants in March were three times as much as planned.
