Dollar drops at UTS

In the first half of this morning's session on US currency the weighted average dollar exchange rate amounted to 31.34 RUR/USD, which was RUR0.04 lower than the previous rate. The dollar rate at the UTS has changed for the first time since March 20. Dealers of commercial banks attribute this strengthening of the ruble to the Central Bank's decision to stop supporting the dollar at the 31.38 RUR/USD level. Today the Central Bank has decreased the level of currency purchases, which has led to the considerable strengthening of the national currency against US currency.
