Cholera epidemic in Kabul
Six thousand people are ill in hospital with cholera in the Afghanistan capital, Kabul, according to World Health organisation sources. Three people are reported to have died from the disease.
The water supply in Kabul is being treated with extra doses of chlorine while a medical team is being rushed into the city from abroad. A WHO spokesperson declared that emergency procedures have to be implemented immediately.
