Russian "Sukhoi" concern intends to double export of its aviation equipment

On Tuesday Mikhail Pogosyan, general director of the widely-known Russian "Sukhoi" company-producer of military and civil aircraft, stated that the Russian concern annually sold abroad worth USD 1 billion of its aviation equipment and intended to double its export capabilities.

According to him, presently aviation equipment produced by "Sukhoi" occupies 14-15% of the world market. The company wishes to bring this figure "to 20 and later to 30%." According to the head of the Sukhoi company, one of the major conditions for that is to get young employees involved in solution of large technical problems. Pogosyan gave an example of how that problem could be solved: he appointed a 28-year old employee to become his deputy with the salary of USD 1000.

According to the head of the Sukhoi company, the average salary of his specialists at the moment amounts to over 9000 rubles a month (about USD 300). This figure is significantly higher than the average salary in the country.
