Russian Foreign Ministry hopes that measures to curb nationalist forces will be taken in Ukraine

Moscow expresses hope that the Ukrainian authorities will take necessary measures to bridle the nationalist forces in Ukraine.

This is said in the information of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, received by RIA Novosti on Monday, in connection with mass media's reports on preparation by the government of Ukraine of a draft law on exoneration of the former members of the so-called Ukrainian Rebel Army.

The document notes that the Russian foreign-policy agency has already more than once stated "the extremely negative stand of Russia on the plans of the nationalist forces in Ukraine to exonerate the former members of the so-called Ukrainian Rebel Army".

"We regret that instead of condemning these intentions the official authorities of Ukraine themselves are making such attempts," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stresses.

"Worthy of note against this background is the frankly anti-Russian campaign engineered by the Galichina newspaper, an organ of the Ivano-Frankovsk Regional Council which is, as is known, financed specifically by the state. It stands to reason that all this does not in the least make for stronger cooperation between our countries," officials of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
