Spokesman for Russian government gives recommendations to inhabitants of Russia in connection with growing exchange rate of Euro

Deputy head of the staff of the government of Russia Alexei Volin recommends that citizens of Russia "do not make abrupt movements" in connection with the growth of the exchange rate of the euro on the European Exchanges.

"Not to make abrupt movements is the main thing recommended in any situation," Volin said in an interview with RIA Novosti. "Ridding of the dollar on a mass scale would be the greatest error now".

Volin believes that, in principle, it is now "more simple and profitable" for the citizens who make trips mainly to Europe and have small foreign-exchange savings for this purpose to keep money in the euro. And for those who have large savings and view foreign exchange as a means of accumulation it makes sense to keep part of their savings in the euro, and part - in dollars, thereby evening out the exchange rates.

As the deputy head of the government administration believes, in Russia there must not arise any problems with a shortage of cash euro for all those wishing. "They will be imported if there is demand," he said and recalled that there were not so many dollars in the country in the early 1990s "but then aircraftloads of them were brought".
