North Caucasus is in need of soonest restoration of life-sustenance systems

On Monday Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov stated at a meeting that the stage of search and rescue operations in the southern regions of Russia affected by the flood was over, "presently it was necessary to work out a set of measures to restore life-sustenance systems in North Caucasus." Kasyanov emphasized that "in the nearest future a special program would be adopted to restore life-sustenance systems in which all measures, facilities requiring repairs and restoration would be enumerated alongside with defined sources of financing." Thus, the prime-minister indicated, restoration operations would be brought from the Emergencies Ministry under the authority of specialists of the State Construction committee, Ministry of Economic development, other departments.

Mikhail Kasyanov also stated that in connection with the natural calamity necessary corrections would be introduced into the current budget. In addition to that, appropriate resources would be allocated in the draft budget for the next year.
