Central Bank reports latest data on domestic banks

The total volume of authorized capital of Russian credit organizations amounted to 282.18bn rubles ($8.95bn) by July 1, 2002, the department of external and public relations of the Russian Central Bank reported. This was 21.191bn rubles ($672m) more as compared to data as of January 1, 2002.

The number of credit organizations with a stake in the authorized capital owned by foreigners increased by 3 and reached 129 by July 1. The total number of credit organizations registered by the Central Bank reached 1,921, which was 80 less than of January 1, 2002.
