Four forest fires registered in Kamchatsk region

Four forest fires have been located in the Kamchatsk region (Russia's Far East). The biggest forest fire has been registered in the nearby River Schapina, the Milkovsky district. The fire has covered the area of over 1,200 hectares, setting alight the tree crowns.

According to a duty officer of the forest air protection, there is a lack of fire-fighting equipment, primarily bulldozers.

At the present moment, the fire in the nearby the Lokhmatka mountain has been extinguished. The bulldozers are being transferred to the area of the Schapina river.

Several dozen firemen have arrived in Kamchatka to fight the calamity near the Nikolka mountain in the Bystrinsky district.
