Russia's youth policy will be discussed at one of the coming State Council sessions, said President Vladimir Putin.
When speaking at the session on social and economic development of the Povolzhye federal district in Saransk on Monday, the president stressed, "We now encounter growth of aggression and intolerance, drug addiction, and crime among young people". The young generation feels its redundancy, especially in the "depressive" regions, he added.
"A serious talk about the whole sphere of youth problems have long been needed," Putin said. Yet it is of no use to form youth policy under "old receipts", he believes.
The president gave a positive assessment to the experience of Mordovia that pays special attention to youth problems.
