Vladimir Putin answers questions of schoolchildren from Mordovia

During his trip to Mordovia, a republic in the Russian Povolzhye, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited an Internet-cafe at a children's summer camp near Mordovia's capital Saransk. The president answered the numerous questions Mordovian schoolchildren asked him in person and via the Internet.

They were very anxious about job assignment after graduation from universities, as it was difficult to find a job, they said.

Russia will not return to the former Soviet practice when the state found jobs for all university graduates, Putin said. It is universities and business that should see to it, he believes.

The country's universities should educate specialists "that will be in demand both today and tomorrow", the Russian leader stressed. "I would like high-tech specialists to be in demand in our economy," he said.

Putin arrived in Mordovia for holding a meeting with the heads of the Povolzhye regions on the social and economic development of the region.
