France Ready to Join Russian-Ukranian Gas Concern
France are to join a Russian-Ukranian gas company, in which Germany is already involved. This was announced on Wednesday at a press conference by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov before his flight from Paris to Moscow. As announced by the department of government information, the Prime Minister remarked that France has a vested interest in this project because approximately one quarter of the country's gas comes from Russia.
He also said that the French-Belgian company Totalfinaelf is ready to invest up to USD 10 billion in the development of the Shtokmanovskoye oil-field on the basis of product-sharing agreement.
